In this post, I will share an easy recipe for til nariyal burfi which is made without using milk, milk powder, khoya or condensed milk. It is a simple and quick recipe made with only 3-ingredients. To make this til gud ki barfi, we are not using any milk products even though it tastes delicious.

 Til also called sesame seeds in English, is found in two colours- white and black and the white one is which we use for making desserts. 

We can make barfi, ladoo, gajak, panjiri, etc. using til seeds. Although, Barfi is one of the famous sweets very popular during the festival of Makar Sakranti and Lohri, mainly in the region of North India.

Til-white til is used in this recipe. First, we have to lightly roast them and then add them to the jaggery syrup.

Coconut – here, we are using coconut powder. If you want you can use fresh coconut or desiccated coconut also. But using coconut milk powder is a quick version of making this sweet.

 Jaggery– used as a sweetener. You can also try it with coconut sugar, palm sugar, khand or white sugar as well.

Cardamom powder– adds a flavour and aroma to the til burfi. It’s optional if you don’t like the flavor, skip it.

How to Make Til Gud ki Barfi (Til ki Barfi Banane ki Vidhi)-Step by Step Guide

1.In a frying pan, add white til, dry roast them on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Switch off the flame and let them cool.

2. Once they cooled, lightly make a coarse powder in a mixer grinder.

3. Now heat 1 tbsp ghee in the same pan, add coarse til powder and roast it for few seconds.

4. Then add coconut milk powder and mix well. Switch off the flame and keep it aside.

5. Take a pan, add crushed jaggery and 2 tbsp water. Cook it till the jaggery melts.

6. Add the melted jaggery syrup to the til mixture and mix. Cook it for few seconds till it starts binding. Switch off the flame.

7. Immediately transfer it on a greased plate, spread it evenly and sprinkle some chopped nuts. Gently press them with a spoon and keep it aside till it sets.

8. Cut into desired shape and ENJOY!

9. Store them in an air tight container; they stay good for about 15- 20 days.

  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds and pista for decoration
